So I was at the SWAT Traffic Seminar…

Written by Solomon Huey on Aug 27th, 2008 | Filed under: Fast Action Ads, Internet Marketing, Networking

Oh, don’t know what the SWAT Seminar is? It’s actually a seminar offered exclusively to Captain Members of SWAT Traffic. As always, we touched on a lot of subjects, and one of them was if we ever tell anyone about SWAT Traffic! One of the great points I heard was that if you talked to a big celebrity like Michael Jordan, Bill Clinton, or Anthony Robbins, you would tell all your friends about it right?

Well today I was learning directly from some of the best business people I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking to at the SWAT Traffic Seminar! Although it is a traffic exchange, many internet marketing concepts are discussed here on a weekly basis and I’m learning new things that make me more money every time I attend.

So to end this quick “lecture” before I get to why I posted in the first place, you can learn directly from some of the top internet marketers every week at SWAT Traffic for just $20 or a month. I doubt you can find a better deal than that anywhere.

But anyway, my new website Fast Action Ads just hit 1,000 members, and I’m really excited about that since we did it in just under 3 weeks.

That got me really thinking about how much networking has paid off for me recently. At Washington DC, I met the owner of Downline Builder Direct and we’ve been working together lately and that has already resulted in somewhere around 100 sign ups at my website EliteSafelist in the past week. I also may have another potential project with one of my friends that I finally got to meet in DC. Thanks to the several people who helped me launch Fast Action Ads, that site is also growing at a phenomal rate.

I sound like a broken record saying this, but I got my start in this business thanks to meeting people and receiving their help along the way. But what’s even more incredible is that every time I look back, I’m seeing that networking continues to pay off all the time.

I know it’s hard sometimes, but just do it because quite honestly it pays to meet people. And if you’re in business to make money, networking is great for making new friends and earning more cash. ;)

3 Main Types of Search Engine Marketing

Written by Solomon Huey on Aug 24th, 2008 | Filed under: Website Traffic Generation

The key to running a successful Internet Marketing business is getting as many people to your site(s) as possible. This is accomplished by marketing your sites (and product or services). I’ll admit it, I absolutely suck at Search Engine Marketing! But just because I’m not that great at it, doesn’t mean you can’t be. There are plenty of people who do amazing things with this stuff, so it never hurts for you to try it out.

For all I know, you could become the next great search engine marketing expert!

There are many ways to do this – some cost money and some do not. The 3 main types of search engine marketing are Search Engine Optimization (SEO), pay-per-click, and article marketing.

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is great way of marketing because it brings you traffic for free. What you do with SEO is you try to get your site ranked high with the search engines for keywords that are searched a lot. That way when people search for those keywords, your site will be one of the first ones listed and you will get people clicking through to your site at no charge to you. Of course this takes a lot of work and is accomplished through a variety of methods. But if you can become successful with this then you will get a ton of free traffic to your site.

Pay-per-click is exactly what it sounds like, you pay for every click. You sign-up with Google or another search engine to have an advertisement listed whenever a certain search is performed. Then whenever someone clicks on your ad you get a visitor to your site but you have to pay for it. You can also elect to have your ads placed on websites and then you would pay the website owner whenever someone clicks on your ad.

The final main way for search engine marketing is through article marketing. Again, article marketing is exactly what it sounds like. For this type of marketing you write articles and then you place a link back to your site in the article or at the end of the article. You can submit your article to a variety of places where people can take your article and post it on their own sites but these people must keep your link with the article. This not only brings traffic directly to your site but it also helps with Search Engine Optimization.

If you want to be successful with your online business then you must know how to market your sites and your products or services.

Like I said, I’m no expert at this stuff. But I’m not dumb enough to try and convince you otherwise. I’d rather pass you to someone who does know how to do it right, and Brad Callen is a big name you can trust for quality information. :)

My First Internet Marketing Event

Written by Solomon Huey on Aug 19th, 2008 | Filed under: Networking

Well this past weekend I attended the Focus Marketing Seminar in Washington DC.

The weekend sure started off funky, with our flight being delayed and most of our luggage being lost. But with some luck and a lot of running through the airport, my girlfriend and I made it to DC on time.

Many of the great people who have been helping me from the NetMarketingForum has been preaching for awhile to attend one of these events. So when I learned that most of them were going to this event in DC, I made it my goal to go just so I could meet them. Another reason I went is because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about with these events!

I’m so happy to say that I had the pleasure to meet a TON of great people in person, including Jon Olson, Paul Kinder, Jon Atwood, Tim Linden, Tony Tezak, Soren Jordansen, Tim Rash, Robert Purcell, Cindy Battye, Dan Moses, Dan Davis, Bill Portnova, William Brant, Paul Conway, Sunny Siggs, Ryan Hogan, and plenty more but I’ll stop the list here. :)

Many were up at all hours of the night hanging out and getting to know each other. I’m not much of a party guy, but even I had a great time hanging out with everyone. :)

During the event, I also got a chance to see/meet some of the top Internet Marketers in the world. Among my favorite speakers were Stephen Pierce and Armand Morin, who really blew me away.

I also took home some great stuff, including books, courses, a cruise, and a prize from Dr. Mike Woo-Ming and Brian Koz.

Unfortunately I don’t have many pictures of the event since my camera wasn’t charged and I was out of the hotel room most of the time, but I’m sure Tim Linden will have some pictures posted up soon.

I had a great time at the event. If you happen to know of a big event you can attend, make sure you can go. The real value of these events is not just about learning directly from the best marketers in the world, but also in being able to meet new people that you could do business with in the future. It really is great being around others with similar goals and aspirations.

Well it’s 4:00 in the morning now and I’m ready to get some rest so I can get back to work and put all the things I’ve learned into action. Oh… and my luggage is missing again, twice in one trip! :(

What’s Your Goal?

Written by Solomon Huey on Aug 12th, 2008 | Filed under: Life

We are all in business for a reason. One of the things I learned when I did multi-level marketing was to find your “why”. Why are you in business? Yes, we’re all here to make some money, but that’s not really why you do it. What will you obtain by getting all of that money?

My personal business goal is to make $10 million. But that is just my financial aspiration. The reason I want to make that much money is so that I can enjoy the rest of my life with the people I care about. I’ve always believed in good relationships, and one thing I want to be able to do in my lifetime is be there for the people I care about.

I want to be there when my family needs me. I want to be able to spend time with my friends on a whim. I want to be able to sleep in all day, go to the gym, or spend all night partying whenever I feel like it. That is what $10 million will help me obtain. I don’t want to worry about if my next paycheck will come or if my boss will let me have the weekend off to spend time with my loved ones.

$10 million dollars seems like a lot of money, but it’s a pretty simple lifestyle if I were to achieve it at an early age. I don’t need the fancy car or a big house (though those are always nice). I just want to have the piece of mind that my basic necessities are taken care of, so that I can spend my time where it truly matters.

If you truly want to be successful with your business, it is incredibly helpful to know “why” you’re doing it. Money isn’t really the answer, because all it really is are pieces of paper. Maybe you want that sense of accomplishment, prove someone wrong, help the community, or who knows what else.

So what is your goal? Please feel free to share it, I’d love to hear what you have to say. :)
