I thought this would be kind of a cool topic since I used to wonder the same thing.

You probably see it all the time, including from me.

Every few days (or maybe everyday), some marketer is telling you about how this new website is going to blow you away and change your life! How come emails are always stuffed with this stuff anyway?!

So here’s the real truth…

The reason we’re always touting the newest launch is that marketers do NOT want to promote junk! You wouldn’t want to spend an email talking about a junk product and being negative, when there are so many great sites out there you could be talking about in a positive light.

Sure, it means bigger profits, but it always means you’re sending your subscribers to something good, and long-term they will be thankful for that.

For example, I know some of my customers constantly join programs I recommend, and I’m hoping it’s because they trust I have their best interest in mind. I’ll never promote a product I feel won’t help my subscribers, though of course I’ll make a mistake from time to time.

If you adopt this philosophy, in the long run you’ll make more money too. Because when your customers trust you, they’ll join the sites and buy the products you recommend!

So yea, I just thought I’d share this little tidbit with you the next time you see a bunch of people telling you about the next “hot” new launch. I know I used to think these guys were all just doing this for some big fat commissions. And I’m sure some of them are, but also understand that most trusthworthy (keyword there) marketers also understand that they need to refer you to quality programs. So when something really good comes out, that’s why you see all these people email about it. It’s because it probably is really that good.

I really recommend you try doing this with your mailing lists too.

Hey so it’s awhile since I posted here, however due to some recent activity at my blog, I’ve decided to send you a treat with a blog post. I added this cool bar thing at the bottom of my site thanks to Sean Supplee, which is where I learned about it.

But anyway…

So I’m gonna talk about some real juicy stuff here, and this is the stuff that is the difference between….

make no money and some money
makin some money versus good money
makin good money to LOTS of money

And I’m not exaggerating one bit. In fact, I’m gonna PROVE it to you with some real world examples.

Internet Marketing… business … if you want to be successful in these, one thing you must realize is that leverage is a key factor to success. Yeah there’s lots of factors, but lets talk about leverage today.

By leverage, I’m referring to maximizing the use of your current resources. Getting the most “bang for your buck”.

Do you play video games? Look at Microsoft’s Xbox 360 video game console. It was well publicized when the system first launched, that they were actually losing money on every console that they sold. Whoa, losing money? Microsoft sure isn’t in business to lose money, so what gives?

In essence, they were building a list of customers and leveraging their system to do it. The key in this case was they were willing to lose money up front so that more people would be using the Xbox 360.

Why?

Microsoft makes money on every game. They sell accessories like controllers, headsets, etc. They make money selling you downloads. They’ve got an entire community, and they want you hooked on it. They sell premium access to their online content. Oh and they also sell you points there too (basically currency to buy stuff on their system).

Suddenly selling at a loss isn’t such a big deal when they’re selling you more stuff left and right! And they KNOW you’ll buy something, otherwise there’d be no point in you having the system in the first place.

Big news in the tech/biz world, Apple just publicly announced it’s new iPad. Basically a giant iPod/Table PC type of device. Same pretty much goes for their iPod and iPhone lines as well. Think of all the cash they make there too! They’ve got accessories. They have an app store. They sell mp3′s. And they want you hooked on their smooth interface so you’ll buy everything else they come out with later.

So looking at Microsoft and Apple, they are both leveraging their products in order to create massive, massive profits… not just sales on the front end.

But the big question is, what are YOU doing to create your OWN profits?

So now we’ve got internet marketing. Look at all the top Internet Marketers, go back to their sites and SEE how they are raking lots of extra cash in ways you may not have even noticed!

Some simple things you can do today are:

Can you see how just doing a minor thing ONE TIME, can create lifelong streams of additional income for your business? You probably won’t see the results immediately, but if you start using more leverage in your business today, you may find yourself raking in insane profits in the future…

Ok, so this is kind of an article and a review at the same time.

Tracking your advertising is one of those things that can mean the difference between a little bit of money or monster profits.

… failure … or success.

Let me illustrate why.

Example 1

You’re surfing 5 traffic exchanges every day for an hour. You earn 100 credits at each exchange for a total of 500 credits. With those credits, you average 4 new subscribers to your mailing list every day.

You start tracking your advertising, and you realize only 2 of those traffic exchanges get you all of your signups. That means each one brings you 2 subscribers a day.

So you replace the 3 “junk” TE’s with new exchanges that DO get you signups.

You still surf 5 TE’s every day for an hour. But now that you’ve eliminated programs that don’t you get results, you’re now averaging 10 subscribers every day! (assuming 2 signups at each exchange)

You’re getting 150% more signups… for the exact same effort.

Example 2

You spend $100 a month buying credits at 5 different traffic exchanges. With that, you 100 new subscribers to your mailing list each month.

You start tracking your advertising, and you realize only 2 of those traffic exchanges get you all of your signups. That means each one brings you 50 subscribers a month.

So you start spending $100 a month, just at the two places that get you all the signups. You start pulling in 250 subscribers a month instead of 100.

You’re getting 150% more signups … for the same amount of money.

Example 3 (Real life example that happened to me!)

When I started tracking my ads, I discovered one of my splash pages got 3 times more clicks than any other I was using. Guess what happened after I found that out!

These are just simplistic examples, but any of these could be true for you too.

So one of your fellow readers wanted to know how to promote a business with your blog.

Now there are SO many ways to do this depending on your niche and the type of business you have. So rather than write some massive 50,000 word article, I’ll give you a nice little list of stuff that you can pick and choose from.

• Find the keywords in your niche likes and focus on posting content in those areas.

• Make your posts that also apply to things about your business, so you can provide useful content and drop friendly reminders about your business. For example, one thing I talk about is getting traffic to your websites. Why not talk about my own websites EliteSafelist and FastActionAds since it helps get website traffic?

• Like to promote affiliate programs? Make sure to smoothly link to some of your affiliate links in your blog posts.

• Update your readers about the latest news going on with your business! For example, I think one or two blog posts ago, I mentioned that EliteSafelist hit 5,000 members.

• For affiliate marketers, of course it makes a lot of sense to devote posts about a new program. You can give an honest review and/or talk about your ongoing experiences with it!

• Remember that those rss feeds and blog networks can be spreading the stuff posted on your blog all over the internet! That means tons of links going back to your website or affiliate links! Your new blog posts can automatically be sent to places like twitter, facebook, and more!

• Have an optin form so you can keep people up to date about your blog (and your business) through email.

• Get your blog active, and it will show new readers that the content you are writing about is interesting to other people. This makes people more inclined to read your blog so they can see what other people have to say. That also means even more exposure for you.

• Remember that sometimes a blog will look a lot friendlier than some salespage where you’re trying to sell someone something. A blog gives you another outlet and way to connect with potential customers.

• Give your readers step by step instructions on how to do stuff, and of course include some action having to do with your business. People love lists!

I’m sure there’s more but I can’t think of them at the moment. If you look around, I’m sure you’ll notice that I apply many of these techniques myself, and it brings me additional, long term business.

Main Article – Flood Your Blog With Traffic … At Will!

Blogging has been a recent phenomenon that’s taken the internet by storm.

Some people do blogging for fun or to make some extra cash. Some people even make their entire living just from blogging!

I want to make a disclaimer that I’m not some blogging “guru”, but I am always reading and studying internet marketing. Naturally, stuff like blogging comes up fairly often, so I’ve read quite a bit of stuff on blogging and marketing online.

With that said, there are a ton of ways to get traffic to your blog. There’s SEO (search engine optimization), blogging communities (technorati, mybloglog, etc), social networking, blog commenting, blog directories, and tons of other stuff.

They all work! For me personally, I’m all about getting the MOST results for as little effort as possible.

This is how *I* drive traffic to my blog with one simple method…

BUILD YOUR LIST!

That’s it! In fact, I’ll go out on a limb and say this would be my answer for most struggling internet marketers.

First let me reveal how I do it, and then why.

1) I create a squeeze page where people can opt in to my mailing list. I’ll usually offer something of value to them, like a free ebook or membership.

2) Then I send traffic to that squeeze page using traffic exchanges, credit based safelists, and viral list builders. I also kind of (as in almost never) do other stuff like social networking or blog commenting, but only if I’m really…really…. really bored, haha. If you’re in a niche outside of Internet marketing, find hotspots where people from your niche would go like forums, popular blogs, and social networking groups.

3) I also naturally get search engine traffic without even doing fancy SEO stuff. If my blog is about internet marketing, I’ll tend to always use keywords about internet marketing anyway, so either way I still get traffic from search engines without any extra effort. But of course if you do your keyword research too, you can enjoy even more free traffic.

4) Then when I make a new blog post, I tell my mailing list subscribers about it.

And that’s how I get traffic to my blog.

So why do I do it this way?

First, it doesn’t take me any extra effort to promote my blog, because I’m always building my mailing list. And YOU should be too. Click here for my recommended autoresponder.

It’s also a good way to remind people that your blog even exists. Lets face it, we’ve all got busy lives and sometimes things will slip our minds. You don’t want people to forget about your blog, so it’s always nice to send them a little friendly reminder and let them know when you put up a new post.

Promoting your blog to your list is a GREAT way to build a relationship with your readers. Sometimes people want to know that you’re more than a marketer, they want to know what kind of person you are. Sending them to your latest blog post with actual info is a nice change of pace from just emailing them whenever you want to sell them something.

Using a list also makes your blog “Google Slap Proof”. Huh? Basically every now and then Google changes their search engine algorithm (basically a math formula). I’ve read SO many times about people who have spent months or years optimizing their websites/blogs to get on the first page of Google. Countless hours of hard work … and then *SLAP*, Google changes the formula and you’re now listed on like page 10…

Well guess what, if you have a mailing list, it doesn’t really matter where your blog ranks in the search engine! You just send out an email like you’ve always done.

And the best thing about this method is that it doesn’t actually take me any extra work. If you do have the time, then sure go out there and do that extra stuff I listed for more traffic to your blog. If time isn’t quite a luxury you have yet, then you might want to give my method a try.

So a couple of weeks ago I went to a small circus show with my family. We saw funny clowns, a contortionist, trapeze acts, elephants, and lots of other stuff I can’t specifically recall at the moment.

While the show was great, I was pleasantly surprised to see a treasure trove of marketing lessons being displayed at the show as well!

Let’s see…

They gave multiple one time offers during brief intermissions!

During one break, they were selling bags of peanuts. But not just ANY bags… if you find a special piece of paper inside, you win a balloon! BUT it was only available right there during the break. If you wait to too long, you lose your shot at the balloon!

One another break, they were selling a coloring book. Once again, it was only available for that brief few minutes. Another great example of a one time offer. They even demonstrated the value in order to get more sales.

They compared it to other circus shows where a similar coloring book costs $5, 6, or even $7! And of course right now you can get yours for only $2!

So now they are establishing value and creating a sense of urgency.

And the lessons didn’t stop there.

They used free offers to draw us in for sales.

They lured people in with a nice free offer, and then upped the ante for a small fee. How’d they do that?

A petting zoo! You can see and pet their cute little animals for free. But what if you could feed them too? Just $1 for some food to feed the animals.

And don’t forget about the ever important upsell.
